Safeguarding

The safety and well-being is of the utmost importance to all of us here at Carrickmannon Primary School.

Mrs R. McCoy is the designated teacher for child protection.

Mrs S. Beggs is the deputy designated teacher for child protection.

Mrs L. Francis is the deputy designated teacher for child protection.

Miss R. Brown is the Principal (Safeguarding trained).

Mrs M. Gibson is the Safeguarding Governor.

Any issues will be dealt with sensitively and Education Authority guidelines will be followed.

At our school, we believe that children do best when home and school work closely together. We welcome open, respectful communication and encourage parents and carers to get in touch if they have any questions or concerns.

If you wish to discuss something about your child’s learning or wellbeing, the class teacher is usually the best first point of contact. Most matters can be quickly and positively resolved through an informal conversation.

If an issue cannot be resolved at this stage, the school has a Complaints Procedure, based on Education Authority guidance, which explains the next steps. This procedure is available on our school website and can also be requested from the school office.

Our aim is always to work in partnership with families, resolve concerns as early as possible, and ensure the best experience for every child in our care.
